Two students killed in Rangpur road accident
RANGPUR, July 24, 2018 (BSS) – Two students were killed in a road accident
at Bhabanipur-Hakimpur point on the Fulbari-Mithapukur highway under
Mithapukur upazila in the district today afternoon, police said.
“The accident occurred when a truck hit a running motorcycle carrying the
victims on their way to Rangpur from Fulbari in Dinajpur killing them on the
spot at 3.30 pm,” said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mithapukur Thana Mozammel
Haque.
The deceased were identified as Fahim Uddin, 22, a student of Rangpur
Polytechnic Institute and Reeta Akhter, 20, a first year (honours) student of
Rangpur Begum Rokeya Government College in Rangpur city.
Fahim, son of late Alimuddin of village Rajib Gram and Reeta, daughter of
Shahidul Islam of village Chapamadhupur under Kawnia upazila of Rangpur.
“We have seized the killer truck. However, its driver and helper fled from
the scene abandoning the truck in the area,” the OC added.
