Dhaka, June 12, 2021 (BSS) – Foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen today urged Saudi Arabia to exempt quarantine for the Bangladeshi expatriate workers who would complete the quarantine before leaving here.

Momen made the request in a conversation over telephone with his Saudi Arabian counterpart Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud, a foreign ministry press release said here.

In reply, the Saudi foreign minister assured that his government would consider the issue.

Currently, the Bangladeshi workers have to stay in seven-day mandatory quarantine after reaching Saudi Arabia.

Momen also sought Saudi Arabia’s support for early repatriation of the persecuted Rohingyas from Bangladesh to their land of origin in Myanmar.
