MANIKGANJ, June 12, 2021 (BSS) – Two motorcycle riders were killed in a head-on collision with dead body-laden Ambulance at Muljan on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway here today.
The deceased were identified as motorcycle rider Abdul Alim, 26, son of late Nurul Islam of Dakkhin Pachuria village (Intajganj bazar) under Shimulia union in Shibalaya upazila of the district and his co-rider Deepok Halder, 25, son of Dinesh Halder of Kanda Shakrail village of the upazila.
Officer-in- Charge (OC) of Golora Highway Police Monirul Islam said the accident occurred at when a Jashore-bound speedy ambulance and the motorcycle collided head-on around 8am in the area, leaving both of its riders dead on the spot.
“Critically injured driver of the ambulance was rushed to Manikganj 250 bed hospital. But, he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) as his condition deteriorated,” the OC said, adding that both the ill-fated vehicles were seized and the dead body of the ambulance was sent to Jashore by another ambulance.
A case was filed with the concerned thana in this connection.
