CHAPAINAWABGANJ, June 12, 2021 (BSS) – Four more persons died of Covid-19 and 32 people were diagnosed with the lethal virus during the last 24 hours in the district.
With the new fatalities, the total number of deaths reached 66 as all the four deceased persons are from Chapainawabganj sadar upazila.
Chapainawabganj Civil Surgeon office sources said the number of Covid-19 cases climbed to 3,076 as 32 more people were detected positive after testing 284 samples during the period in the district with the infection rate of 11.26 percent.
Among the newly detected patients, 15 people are from sadar upazila, two from Shibganj upazila, four from Gomastapur upazila and 11 from Nachole upazila.
A total of 1,210 patients, of which 55 in dedicated Covid-19 hospital and others in home quarantine, are undergoing treatment while 1,800 patients have so far recovered from the deadly disease in the district, the sources added.
