38,090 infected, 32,532 recover in Covid-19 in Khulna

KHULNA, June 10, 2021 (BSS) – With detection of 578 new positive cases in all ten districts of the division, the total number of COVID-19 infected patients now hit 38,090 till this noon.

A total of 32,532 have been cured from the lethal virus infection and recovery rate now stands at 85.41 percent,” Assistant Director for Khulna division Dr. Ferdousi Akhter told BSS.

The total number of COVID-19 patients rose to 38,090 with 578 new positive cases were reported after testing 1,830 samples at the Khulna Medical College Laboratory and two others COVID-19 laboratories in Khulna division in the last 24 hours till this noon. Of the total new positive cases, 200 were detected in Jashore, followed by 122 in Khulna, 73 in Kushtia, 63 in Bagerhat, 48 in Satkhira, 37 in Chuadanga, 21 in Jhenidah, nine in Meherpur and five in Narail in the division.

With the new detected cases, the district-wise break-up of the patients are 11,101 in Khulna, 7,899 in Jashore, 5,394 in Kushtia, 3,031 in Jhenaidah 2,157 in Satkhira, 2,154 in Chuadanga, 1991in Bagerhat, 1,961 in Narail, 1,292 in Magura and 1,110 in Meherpur, she added.

“Among the total 38,090 corona virus infected persons, 4,855 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals as 32,532 have been recovered and 695 died while the rest are undergoing treatment in isolation at their respective homes in the division”, Dr. Ferdousi continued.

Talking to BSS today, Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Rasheda Sultana said the number of total fatalities stands at 695 in the division with five more death was reported in the division on Wednesday.

The district-wise break-up of the death tolls are 192 in Khulna, 124 in Kushtia, 84 in Jashore, 64 in Chuadanga, 57 in Jhenidah, 53 in Bagerhat, 48 in Satkhira, 27 in Narail and 23 each in Meherpur and Magura in the division.

“The average casualty rate among all 38,090 COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 1.76 percent in the division,” she mentioned.

On the other hand, a total of 280 more people have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while others 208 were released in all ten districts of the division over the last 24 hours till 12 this noon .

A total of 79,274 people had, so far, been kept under home quarantine and isolation at hospital.

Of them, 78,129 have, been released as they were given clearance certificates after completing their respective 14-day quarantine period and 4,855 are currently remaining in home or institutional quarantine in the division.
