Over one lakh trees planted to honour martyrs in Khulna
KHULNA, July 24, 2018 (BSS) – Over one lakh tree saplings have been planted
in 1,781 educational institutions of the district to pay honour to the 3
million martyrs of the Liberation War.
Department of Social Forest distributed 1, 06,808 tree saplings to 1,157
primary schools, 410 secondary schools, 137 madrasas and 77 colleges in the
city and district, said Khondokar Ruhul Amin, district education officer.
“Students, teachers and employees of the educational institutions planted
tree sapling at their school, madrasa and college premises on July 18.” he
said.
Besides, authorities of Khulna University (KU) and Khulna University and
Engineering and Technology (KUET) planted tree saplings to make the program
success.
