RAB-13 destructs bomb-like object in Gaibandha
RANGPUIR, June 10, 2021 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 destroyed a
bomb-like object recovered from the veranda of an under construction shop in
village Bhag Gopal in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha on Wednesday evening.
“Being informed by locals, Gobindaganj Thana police recovered the abandoned
object from the spot on Wednesday morning,” said a press release issued by
Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13 Flight Lieutenant Mahmud Bashir Ahmed here
today.
The Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-3 at Gaibandha Camp of RAB-13 rushed to the
spot soon after getting the information.
Later, Gaibandha district police requested the elite force to defuse the bomb-
like object and a smart contingent of the bomb disposal unit of RAB-13 rushed to
the spot at 1:10 pm after getting necessary directions from the headquarters at
Dhaka.
The bomb disposal unit of RAB-13 successfully destroyed the bomb-like object in
an open field maintaining all safety and security measures at 6:40 pm and
collected necessary signs of the object for further investigation.
Owner of the under construction soap Mehedi Hassan, 25, son of Sekendar Ali of
the same village filed a general diary (GD) with Gobindaganj Thana police in this
connection.
“The elite force has visited the spot and is analyzing the signs and situation in
the adjoining areas and continuing a shadow investigation into the incident,” the
release added.
