Foodstuffs distributed among 1,000 distressed families in Kurigram

RANGPUR, June 10, 2021 (BSS) – Foodstuffs, packed in baskets, were distributed among 1,000 distressed and helpless families as gifts from the King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in Kurigram on Wednesday afternoon.

The foodstuffs were distributed at the initiative of donor organization ‘King Salman Humanities Aid and Relief Center’ as humanitarian assistance at a function held at Kurigram Government College ground.

Under management of Al-Manahil Welfare Foundation, the foodstuffs were distributed at the function strictly abiding by the health directives in the wake of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

President of Kurigram district Awami League and District Council Chairman Md Jafar Ali distributed the foodstuffs at the function as the chief guest.

Each of the beneficiary families received a basket containing 10 kgs of rice, seven kgs of lentils, three liters of edible oil, three kgs of sugar and one kg of salt.

Kurigram municipal Mayor Kaziul Islam, representatives of King Salman Humanities Aid and Relief Center Dr Toha, Abdullah Khaled Al Usaimin and Muhammad Fadi Al Farsani and officials and local elite attended the function.
