108 more test positive for COVID-19 in Satkhira
SATKHIRA, June 9, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 108 more persons were tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours in the district after diagnosing 182 samples at Satkhira Medical College and Hospital (SMC) COVID-19 laboratory.
The infection rate is about 59.34 percent, the incidence of coronavirus infection is increasing in the district, civil surgeon of the district Dr. Hussain Shafayat, told BSS this afternoon.
The total number of infected persons in the district stood at 2,097 and the number of recovery cases stood at 2,030, civil surgeon of the district Dr. Hussain Shafayat said.
A total of 48 persons have so far died of COVID-19 in the district, he said.
In the last 24 hours, four persons have died with coronavirus symptoms. So far, a total of 216 people have died with coronavirus symptoms in the district.
Dr. Hussain Shafayat said 44 infected persons are now undergoing treatment at Satkhira Medical College and Hospital, rest of the infected persons are now undergoing treatment at home under the supervision of doctors from their respective upazila health complexes.
The health expert urged all to follow the health rules strictly and use masks to prevent the spread of the lethal virus.
He urged everyone to be more aware to prevent this lethal infection.
