Two die, 44 more test positive for COVID-19 in Natore

NATORE, June 9, 2021 (BSS) – A number of 44 more people were diagnosed with COVID-19 positive in the last 24 hours here after testing 88 samples at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital and Natore Sadar Hospital including three Upazila Health complexes.

Of the new positive cases, 23 are in Sadar, 11 in Singra, four in Gurudaspur, two in Baraigram and four in Bagatipara upazilas of the district.

Meanwhile, two people have died due to coronavirus infection during the period in the district, civil surgeon Dr Kazi Mizanur Rahman told BSS this afternoon.

The infection rate is about 50 percent as the incidence of coronavirus infection is increasing in the district, he said.

Civil surgeon’s office sources said samples of 14,754 people have been tested in the district so far and 1,984 people have been found COVID-19 positive, while the number of recovery cases stood at 1,501.

A total of 30 persons have so far died of COVID-19 in the district, said Dr Rahman.

At present, the number of persons in the home quarantine in the district is 442 and the number of patients in quarantine in the Natore Sadar Hospital is 41, he said.

The health official urged all to follow the health rules strictly and use masks to prevent the spread of the lethal virus.

He urged everyone to be more aware of preventing this lethal infection.
