113 more test positive for Covid-19 in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, June 9, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 113 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in last 24 hours till Tuesday evening in the district, reaching the total infection 54,334 as the infection rate is 9.73 percent.
The daily infection shows a slight reduction compared to the previous day’s figure of 129, as the recovery rate continuously increasing in the district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chatogram told BSS today.
Among the newly infected patients, 66 are from Chattogram city and 47 from different upazilas of the district.
The health experts reissued their urge to dwellers to strictly follow health rules and use masks due to continuous increasing of corona infections here.
With one death reported on Tuesday, the number of fatalities due to COVID-19 reaches 632, Dr Rabbi said.
“Among the fatalities, 450 were from port city and the rest 182 were from different upazilas of the district,” he said,
Among the total 54,334 coronavirus infected people, 43,103 are the residents of the port city and the rest 11,231 are from different upazilas of the district, he continued.
“The number of cured patients from the lethal virus infection has reached 44,093 here with the recovery of 517 more patients on Tuesday,” the health official said, adding that the percentage of recovery rate stands at 81.15.
A total of 5,993 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at designated hospitals here, he mentioned.
