Light to moderate rain likely over country
DHAKA, June 9, 2021 (BSS) – Light to moderate rain is likely to occur in several parts of the country, a met office release said today.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at isolated places over the country, it said.
Mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Faridpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajgonj and kushtia and it may abate.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Southwest monsoon has advanced up to Chattogram, Barishal, Dhaka, Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions. Conditions are favourable for further advancement of Southwest monsoon over remaining parts of the country. Monsoon is fairly active over eastern part of the country and weak to moderate over North Bay.
Country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 36.0 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and minimum temperature today was 23.0 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 111 millimeters (mm).
Today’s sunset at 6.46 PM and tomorrow’s sunrise at 5.10 AM at Dhaka.
