Nasim’s death irreparable loss in Bangladesh politics: politicians

DHAKA, June 8, 2021 (BSS) – Politicians today said the vacuum created in the country’s politics at the demise of veteran Awami League leader Mohammed Nasim is irreplaceable .

Nasim Like his father Mansur Ali, was as a dauntless and fearless leader who never compromised with injustice, they told a reminiscence meeting here.

Sirajganj Journalists’ Association in Dhaka organized the meeting at Jatiya Press Club, commemorating the first death anniversary of Mohammed Nasim.

Speaking as the chief guest, AL presidium member Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak said Nasim had outstanding organisational skills and leadership quality and in real life, he was a person of welfare-oriented thoughts.

“The death of Nasim is an irreparable loss for the country’s politics, he said: “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has lost a trusted ally at his death and simultaneously we lost a guardian.”

Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Hoque Shameem said Mohammed Nasim was a brave soldier of AL like his father Mansur Ali.

“He (Nasim) was an uncompromising leader. As long as Bangladesh and Awami League sustain, Mohammed Nasim will remain alive in the hearts of AL leaders and workers,” he added.

Chaired by Sirajganj Journalists’ Association vice-president Taimur Faruk Tushar, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by AL organizing secretary SM Kamal Hossain, Mohammad Nasim’s eldest son and Sirajganj-1 MP Engineer Tanvir Shakil Joy, lawmakers Prof Dr Habibe Millat Munna (Sirajganj-2) and Abdul Momin Mondal (Sirajganj-5), Dhaka South City AL vice-president Dilip Roy, its organizing secretary Golam Ashraf Talukder, treasurer of Jaitiya Press Club Shahed Chowdhury, general secretary of Dhaka Journalists Union Sajjad Alam Khan Tapu and former president of Sirajganj Journalists’ Association Shahnewaz Dulal.
