RAJSHAHI, June 7, 2021 (BSS) – Four people including two females were killed on the spot and two others injured in a thunderbolt strike in Chalk Kapasia area of the district today.
Locals said the deceased were identified as Mukta Khatun, 35, Aleya Begum, 65, Sohan, 8, and Parash, 8. All are the residents of the same village.
Two others identified — as Jibon, 5, and Bhutto, 20, — were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Nur Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Katakhali Police Station, told BSS that they were struck by lightning while collecting fallen mangoes in a nearby orchard during a storm around 3.40 pm.
Being informed, police reached the place of occurance immediately, he added.
