Mushfique seeks break from T20Is in Zimbabwe

DHAKA, June 7, 2021 (BSS) — Bangladesh’s senior cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim expressed his desire to take a break from the T20 series in Zimbabwe tour.

He will however play the Test and ODI series as Bangladesh will visit the country for a Test, three ODIs and as many T20Is.

Whether his leave will be granted or not depends on the cricket operations of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

“Mushfiqur wants leave from the T20 series in Zimbabwe tour,” National team chief selector Minhazul Abedin Nannu told the media today.

“He will urge for the leave officially to official cricket operations and then they will decide. Mushfiqur will play Tests and ODIs in the tour. It’s all right to me and I think he can ask for a leave. Maybe he is tired of playing,” the chief selector added.

The Bangladesh national cricket team will leave Dhaka on June 29 to play a full series against the host Zimbabwe. The series will start on July 7.
