3,87,310 get second dose of Covid-19 vaccine in Rangpur

RANGPUR, June 7, 2021 (BSS) – The number of citizens who got the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine reached 3,87,310 in Rangpur division where 130 more people were inoculated today.

Health officials said the 130 citizens, including 94 male and 36 female, hailing from Rangpur district alone were inoculated today with the second dose of the jab in the division.

Due to vaccine scarcity, none could be vaccinated today in the seven other districts of Rangpur division.

“The total of 3,87,310 second dose recipient citizens, including 2,46,637 male and 1,40,673 female, previously got the first dose at least two months ago,” Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md Ahad Ali told BSS.

The district-wise break-up of the second dose recipient 3,87,310 citizens stands at 89,019 in Rangpur, 31,753 in Panchagarh, 50,273 in Nilphamari, 27,920 Lalmonirhat, 33,769 in Kurigram, 37,359 in Thakurgaon, 78,830 in Dinajpur and 38,387 in Gaibandha.

Meanwhile, none was vaccinated today with the first dose of the jab since April 26 last in Rangpur division where the total number of citizens who got the first dose of the jab remained steady at 5,96,943 people, including 3,58,018 male and 2,38,925 female,.

Talking to BSS today, Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task Force and Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu stressed on abiding by the health directives to contain the Covid-19 infection.
