RAJSHAHI, July 24, 2018 (BSS) – Speakers at a function here said pro-people public services and innovative efforts of government employees could be the effective means of establishing good governance everywhere in the society with achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“Freeing all the field level government officials from corruptions is very important for establishing people’s confidence in all tiers of the roots level administrations”, they added.
The views were expressed at a post-rally discussion at conference hall of Deputy Commissioner here yesterday. Divisional and District Administrations jointly organised the function marking the National Public Service Day-2018.
Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi division Aminul Islam addressed the meeting as the chief guest with Parvej Raihan, Deputy Director of Local Government Division, in the chair. Additional Deputy Commissioner Nasima Khatun and Additional District Magistrate Subrata Paul also spoke.
Chief Executive Officer of Rajshahi Development Authority Dr Dewan Shahriar Firoj and Divisional Director of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority Ataul Gani presented two concept papers on the issue highlighting significance of the day.
Aminul Islam stressed the need for ensuring good governance everywhere in the service delivery activities.
He said the present government is committed to building a transparent, accountable, people-oriented, knowledge-based and dynamic public administration.
He urged all concerned to change their backdated and negative mindsets and work together to supplement the government endeavor in this regard.
