4 killed, 5 injured in cylinder explosion in N. India

NEW DELHI, July 24, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) – At least four people have been
killed and five others injured in a cylinder blast in the northern Indian
state of Uttar Pradesh, police said Tuesday.

The mishap took place in Darki village in the state’s Agra district.

According to a police official, a cooking gas cylinder exploded in a local
resident’s house Monday night, following a leak. Four people were killed in
the impact of the blast.

The five injured have been admitted to a local hospital where the condition
of two are said to be serious, he added.

Local media reports said that the cylinder explosion was so severe that the
glass windows of some of the neighboring homes were shattered.

A probe has been ordered into the incident, the official said.
