Mild heat wave sweeping over parts of the country

DHAKA, June 07, 2021 (BSS) – Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajgonj and Dinajpur and it may abate at some places, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin today.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is also likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Rangpur and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am today.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country’s maximum temperature was recorded on Sunday 38.4 degrees Celsius at Jessore and minimum temperature today 22.8 degrees Celsius at Sandwip

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00am today was recorded 129 millimetres (mm) at Teknaf.

The sun sets at 6.45 PM today and rises at 5.11 AM tomorrow at Dhaka.
