RAJSHAHI, June 6, 2021 (BSS)- District administration has launched the mobile corona test free of cost today aimed at assessing the extent of community transmission of Covid-19 in the city.
A team of the Civil Surgeon Office has started corona testing at Shaheb Bazar point in the city around 10 am today. Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Abu Kalam Siddique and Civil Surgeon Dr Quiume Talukder were present on the occasion.
In the preliminary stage, after collecting samples from the public in general the test is being conducted at five points in the city.
Around 1,200 samples are expected to be tested at the five points every day, said Civil Surgeon Dr Quiume Talukder.
“We’ll be able to know about the extent of new corona variants in the city through the free campaign,” he added.
RMP Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique said the entire Bangladesh is now panicked related to the Rajshahi’s escalating trend of Covid-19. So, preventive measures have become crucial here.
The free testing step will help to undertake time-fitting preventive measures to limit the spread, he added.
