BCB and CCDM to look into Bio-bubble breach

DHAKA, June 5, 2021 (BSS)—The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) will investigate a potential breach of the Bio-Security Environment (BSE) in place for the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division T20.

An incident occurred during a practice session of Mohammedan Sporting Club on Friday, which came to the notice of the BCB and CCDM, a statement from BCB said here today.

The statement however didn’t reveal the incident of the breach of bio-bubble that happened.

The statement only said the BCB and CCDM has taken the matter very seriously and an investigation has been initiated.

“We are disappointed to note this incident. Both the CCDM and the BCB has taken this very seriously,” CCDM Chairman Kazi Inam Ahmed said.

“The health and safety of our teams, players and officials are most important to us. We have invested a significant amount of finances and efforts to make sure the BSE protocols are in place including the best possible accommodation and logistics. This incident is being looked into and necessary actions and further precautionary measures will be taken.”

On Friday, Mohammedan captain Shakib Al Hasan practiced batting for extra time at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in a bid to regain the form. Shakib has been going through a patchy batting form since his return to the International cricket after serving a ban imposed by ICC.
