Rahmat upbeat to play good brand of football against India

DHAKA, June 5, 2021(BSS)-After a stunning performance against Afghanistan’s match, the Jamie Day’s men are looking forward to snatch points against India playing good brand of football.

Defender Rahmat Mia also expressed his farm optimism to snatch points against India playing good brand of football.

“We have a return leg match against India on June 7, …. I played against India in the first leg away match …. I know their attacking side as well as strong and weak sides … we have another two sessions left and we have been shown in the field and meeting room of their (India) strong and weak points and we have been taught of how can we improve ……. we hope that we’ll be able to snatch point playing good brand of football against India,” said Rahmat Mia.

“Naturally, the defensive challenge against a big team is much more because if we make any silly mistake, then we have to concede goal, so we’ll have to pay more concentration so that we don’t make any mistakes,” he added.

Rahmat said it’s important for them to remain compact in the field because India’s forward line is good and they can move the ball quickly.

Left back Rimon Hossain of Bashundhara Kings, also hoped to play good football against India.

The youngest footballer of the national team said they were able to snatch point giving their level best performance against Afghanistan and also hopeful to carry the same performance in the next match.

Replying to a question 17 years old Rimon said: “Playing for the national team at such a young age, it’s a big achievement for me. I want to be able to maintain my performance and play in the national team for a long time. I want to do the best performance. That is what I want so that I can hold my place in the team. Please everyone pray for me and our team.”

Team’s assistant Coach Stuart Watkiss said they have got a good start against Afghanistan and it was good performance from the team as the team came back from the behind to snatch point against Afghanistan. Everybody is pleased of the team’s performance and the result against Afghanistan.

He said the match against India would be a difficult one but if the boys play the same level as they played against Afghanistan, it would be possible to get a good result against India.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh team, split into two groups, completed their gym session today. They are also schedule to have their practice session at Qatar University ground this evening.
