Construction work of 3rd terminal of Shahjalal airport progressing rapidly: Mahbub
DHAKA, June 5, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mohammad Mahbub Ali MP said the construction work of 3rd terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport is progressing very rapidly.
“We are ahead of the target in the construction of the 3rd terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, …. In June 2021, 14.5 percent of the work of this terminal was supposed to be completed, but till today, the work has been completed 16 percent,” he said.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism said this while inspecting the progress of construction work of the 3rd terminal of the airport, said a press release.
The state minister said the size of the terminal would be more than double that of the current airport. The terminal will be connected to a tunnel from Ashkona Hajj Camp. This will allow the honored pilgrims to enter the airport directly from the Hajj camp.
“The construction work of the terminal did not stop even for a day when the whole world was at a standstill due to the aggression of Covid and the construction of this terminal is expected to be completed in June 2023. However, we hope that the work will be completed ahead of schedule,” he added.
