9 more die, COVID-19 deaths reach 54 in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, June 5, 2021 (BSS): Nine more persons died of COVID-19 in Chapainawabganj district during the last 24 hours. With this the total number of deaths rose up to 54 in the district.
Of the new deaths, six persons are from Chapainawabganj sadar upazila, two from Shibganj upazila and one from Gomostapur upazila. Sources in the Civil Surgeon office in Chapainawabganj confirmed this.
The sources said, a total of 107 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 out of 194 samples tested during the last 24 hours raising the total number of corona positive cases in the district to 2,347. In respect of the test the infection rate during the last 24 hours was 55.15 percent.
Of the newly 107 detected patients, 48 persons are from sadar upazila, 31 from Shibganj upazila, 24 from Gomostapur upazila and four from Bholahat upazila.
A total of 1,164 patients including the 107 newly detected patients are undergoing treatment in the district, the sources added.
The sources further added that a total of 1,129 patients have so far recovered from the disease in the district.
