Govt ensures fair price of country’s all agro crops:Sadhan Chandra

MYMENSINGH, June 4, 2021 (BSS) – Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder today said farmers are getting fair price for their crops due to the government’s timely plan.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is giving various incentives to the farmers. The benefits of incentives should be extended for the marginal farmers,” he said while speaking at a view-exchange meeting at Khagdahar in Mymensingh as the chief guest.

Later, the minister also inaugurated the office-building at Mymensingh Canteen Stores Department (CSD) under the project titled “Repair of old food warehouses and ancillary facilities across the country and construction of new infrastructure”.

He said the country has produced adequate crops this year and its food-grain stock is currently around 10 lakh tonnes.
Sadhan Chandra directed all to collect paddy from the marginal farmers to ensure fair price of the farmer’s crops.
He also directed the officials of the Food Department to closely monitor the ongoing procurement drive for increasing the stockpile.

With Directorate General of Food Sheikh Muzibar Rahman in the chair, the meeting was attended, among others, by Secretary of Food Ministry Mosammat Nazmanara Khanum, Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh Mohammad Enamul Haque, Superintendent of Police Md Ahmar Uzzaman, Zila Parishad Administrator Yusuf Khan Pathan and local Awami League leaders.

Earlier, the minister inspected the progress of CSD’s modern steel silo construction project and inaugurated the newly constructed CSD office building.

Later, he planted a tree sapling on the newly constructed CSD office building premises.

Mentionable, the construction work of the building was completed on May last at a cost of around Taka two crore.
