5 more die of COVID-19 in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, June 4, 2021 (BSS) – Five more persons died of COVID-19 during the last 24 hours, raising the total number of fatalities to 45 in the district.
Among the deaths, two are from Shibganj upazila, one from Gomostapur and two others from Nachole upazila, Civil Surgeon office sources said.
They said a total of 109 persons were diagnosed with positive for COVID-19 as 262 samples were tested during the last 24 hours, raising the total number of corona positive cases here to 2,240.
The positivity rate stands at 41.60 percent.
Of the newly detected patients, 30 are from sadar upazila, 18 from Shibganj, 34 from Gomostapur, seven from Nachole and 20 from Bholahat upazila.
A total of 1,066 patients including the 109 new ones are undergoing treatment in the district, the sources said.
A total of 1,129 persons have, so far, recovered from the disease, they added.
