AL, its allied bodies hold processions in city hailing budget

DHAKA, June 3, 2021, (BSS) – Hailing the proposed budget for the financial year 2021-22, the Awami League (AL) and its affiliated and like-minded organizations brought out joyous processions today.

All leaders of AL and its allied bodies hailed the proposed budget for the 2021-2022 FY raised by Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal today in the (budget) session of the Eleventh Jatiya Sangsad.

The processions were marched in the capital describing the proposed budget as ‘pro-people and development-friendly’.

Welcoming the new budget on Thursday, the Dhaka South City Unit of AL took out a procession in front of the Awami League’s central office at 23 Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital.

Later, the affiliated organizations of AL such as Awami Swechchhasebak League, Jatiya Sramik League and other bodies also welcomed the new budget and held separate processions in the city.

City leaders including Dhaka South City Unit of AL President Abu Ahmed Mannafi and General Secretary Md Humayun Kabir were present at the procession and rally on Bangabandhu Avenue.

After welcoming the budget, Awami Jubo League led by General Secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil took out another procession in front of the party office at 23 Bangabandhu Avenue.

Presidium members of Jubo League Mamunur Rashid and Md Rafiqul Islam, among others, were present at the time.

Joint-General Secretary Rafiqul Alam Joardar Saikat, Organizing Secretaries Kazi Mazharul Islam and Md Saifur Rahman Sohag, Publicity Secretary Joydev Nandi, Office Secretary Md Mostafizur Rahman Masud, International Affairs Secretary Kazi Sarwar Hossain and Deputy Office Secretary Delwar Hossain Shahzada were also present.

The procession paraded different streets of the Bangabandhu Avenue, Shaheed Nur Hossain Square, Muktangan and Paltan areas.

Meanwhile, AL leaders also distributed sweets in different thana-wards of the capital.

Jatrabari Thana Awami League General Secretary Harun Rashid Munna and Ward-48 Commissioner Abul Kalam Anu welcomed the budget and held a joyous procession where sweets were distributed at Jatrabari crossroads.

Wari Thana Awami League president Chowdhury Ashiqur Rahman Lavlu and general secretary Abul Hossain welcomed the new budget and organized a milad and doa-mahfil.

Appreciating the proposed budget for the financial year 2021-22, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Ward-68 Councilor Mahmudul Hasan Polin distributed COVID-19 related items among the pedestrians in the city.

The procession came out and marched around Sarulia and Staff Quarters area of Demra.

Besides, Bangabandhu Joy Bangla League welcomed the budget in front of the National Press Club and held a joyous procession.
