NETRAKONA, Jun 3, 2021 (BSS) – Over 3.78 lakh under five babies would be administered with vitamin A plus capsules in the district during the fortnight long national vitamin A plus capsules campaign-2021 on June 5.
This was informed by civil surgeon (CS) Netrakona Dr. Mohammad Salim Mia at a workshop for journalists held here today at his official conference room.
In the workshop, the civil surgeon briefed journalists on the preparatory measures undertaken by the district health and family planning departments for making the national vitamin A plus campaign successful.
The CS highlighted the necessities of feeding of the Vitamin A plus capsules for the under-five aged babies in order to prevent their malnutrition and blindness specially night blindness side by side of strengthening their immune system and ensuring their healthier growth.
He informed that a total of 944 health and family planning workers and 3,340 volunteers will feed vitamin A plus capsules in the total 2,142 centers under 86 unions and five municipalities of the district during the period of 8am to 4pm everyday without any break.
A total of 39,329 babies (6-11 months) will be administered with one dose of one lakh units of blue colored vitamin A plus capsules and 3,39,612 babies (12-59 months) will be administered with one dose of two lakh units of red colored vitamin A plus capsules across the district, he said.
