AL govt implementing budgets proving all criticisms false: Hasan
DHAKA, June 03, 2021 (BSS)- Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said the budgets given by the Awami League government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have been implemented proving all criticisms false, and the percentage of implementation of all budgets placed by the government is above 95 percent.
“Bangladesh is marching forward led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina keeping balance between lives and livelihoods and this trend is being continued amid the COVID 19 pandemic,” he told newsmen at an instant reaction over the national budget at Jatiya Sangsad.
He said health, social safety net, education and other sectors got importance and priority in the budget.
“I know that BNP would give statement against the budget like the past years and they (BNP) would tell that the budget is imaginary and it is not implementable. They have been criticizing since last 12 and a half years. But the reality is that the percentage of implementation of all budgets of the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is above 95 percent,” said Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary.
He said Bangladesh left behind Pakistan in all indexes and neighbouring India in some indexes. “Pakistan was 70 percent richer than Bangladesh in 1971. And, presently Bangladesh is 45 percent richer than Pakistan,” he added.
He said the per capita income of the country is now 2227 US dollar. “It is regrettable that many don’t want to see and understand Bangladesh’s remarkable development that took place in the last one era under the Awami League government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” said Hasan.
