Ziaur, Razib take share lead after 3rd round
DHAKA, June 3, 2021 (BSS)- GM Ziaur Rahman and GM Enamul Hossain Razib of Bangladesh shared a joint lead in the points table after the third round matches with maximum three points in the Asian Zonal Chess Championship (Hybrid Chess), qualifying for the FIDE World Cup Chess, now being held at Asia Hotel & Resorts and online chess platform tornelo.
Six players are sharing the second positions with 2.5 points. They are – IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman, IM Abu Sufian Shakil, Anata Choudhury and CM Manon Reja Neer of Bangladesh, FM LMST De Silva and CM Liyanage Ranindu Dilshan of Sri Lanka.
Four players are sharing the third position. They are – FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, FM Mehdi Hasan Parag, CM Manon Reja Neer and Anata Choudhury.
In the day’s third round matches, GM Ziaur Rahman beat FM Mehdi Hasan Parag, GM Enamul Hossain Razib beat FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman split points with Anata Choudhury, IM Abu Sufian Shakil split point with CM Manon Reja Neer, CM Ranindu Dilshan beat CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed, FM De Silve beat Swarnavo Choudhury, IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin beat WFM Noshin Anjum, FM Subrota Biswas beat CM Amarasinghe of Sri Lanka, FM Khandaker Aminul Islam beat Musawir Khan of Pakistan, FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed beat Raj Prajapati of Nepal, CM Tahsin Tajwar Zia beat Wadifa Ahmed, CM Mohammad Sharif Hossain beat Faisal Muhammad Mughal of Pakistan, CM Sohel Chowdhury beat Yaqoob Muneeb of Pakistan, CM Nayem Haque beat Anshu Dil Prajapati, Niken Kusatha beat Zaidi Anis Ur Rahman of Pakistan, Mihir Lal Das beat Farooq Noor of Maldives, FM Shuaau Muhammad of Maldives beat Haris Rizwan of Pakistan and Awas Ahmed beat Shahwani Afzal of Pakistan.
The fourth round matches start tomorrow (Friday) from 3:30 pm at the same venue.
