None to be allowed to put up billboards in city: Mayor Rezaul
CHATTOGRAM, June 3, 2021 (BSS)- City Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said that he would not lease out any footpath or place of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) to anyone.
“None was allowed to put up any billboards in my 100 days activities, which was given earlier.
I will not tolerate any misdeeds by anyone in the future. I will take immediate action if I can find out about this through the media,” he said.
Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said this while exchanging views with the journalists held at KB Abdus Chattar auditorium of old city corporation building in Andarkilla today.
Kazi Muhammad Mozammel Haque, Chief Executive Officer of CCC, delivered the welcome speech at the meeting.
The mayor sought the cooperation from people of all walks of life, well-wishers and the media in this regard.
Regarding waterlogging in Chattogram city, Reazaul Karim Chowdhury said that the Chattogram Development Authority is working on a waterlogging mega project.
Responding to another question from reporters about cleaning up the city’s garbage at night, the mayor said “Initiative to clean up the garbage at night was good. Former mayor AJM Nasir Uddin started this activity.
However, garbage is not being cleaned at night due to health risks in Covid-19 situation. If the situation improves, it will start again soon.”
