Khaleque for stern actions for violating hyiege rules
KHULNA, June 2, 2021 (BSS) – Khulna City Corporation Mayor (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque has asked district administration, department of health, law enforcement agencies and public representatives to take appropiate measures to control Coronavirus spread.
‘‘Muslim scholars can paly a crucial role in creating awarnees over social distancing, hand washing and using masks in order to check the spead the Coronavirus infection,” he said, adding mass gathering after dusk should be prevented for reducing infection rate.
He made the remarks while addressing the Coronavirus prevention related district committee meeting as the chief guest held at deputy commissioner’s conference room in the city.
Secretary of the cabinet division (Coordination and Maintenance) Md Kamal Hossain and Khulna divisional commissioner Md Ismail Hossain virtually joined the meeting with Khulna deputy commissioner Md Helal Hossain in the chair.
The meeting has taken various decisions over mass gathering at various places and slum areas to stem Coronavirus spread.
The meeting has decided to impose lockdown from June 4 whereas kitchen markets and grocery shops will be shutdown after evening except emmergency services at Khulna Sadar, Sonadanga, Khalishpur Thana area and Rupsha upazila.
It also decided that district administration in association with law enforcement agencies should take actions to control huge gathering at resturents and other places.
The percentage of Coronavirus infection is now 35 in Khulna Sadar, 25 in Khalishpur, 17 in Sonadanga Thana in the city and 4.18 in Rupsha upazila in the district.
Additional Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sarder Rakibul Islam, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mahbub Hasan, Civil Surgeon Dr Niaz Mohammad, Director of Khulna Medical College Hospital Dr Md Robiul Hasan, Vice-Principal of Khulna Medical College Dr Mehedi Newaz, Deputy Director of Local Government Department of Deputy Commissioner Office Md Iqbal Hossain, Additional deputy commissioner (General) Md Yousup Ali, among others, attended the meeting.
