ACC conducts sudden drive at BRTA

DHAKA, July 23, 2018 (BSS) – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has once
again conducted a surprise drive in the capital’s Uttara office of Bangladesh
Road Transport Authority (BRTA) today.

“We are conducting such drives to develop overall services of the BRTA to
eliminate irregularities in its management,” said Director General (admin) of
the ACC Mohammad Munir Chowdhury.

A nine-member enforcement team of the ACC conducted the drive following
receipt of allegations over its hotline 106 that the people were compelled to
give bribe for getting registration and fitness certificates of their
vehicles.

The commission earlier on July 11 and 12 conducted two separate drives at
the BRTA’s Ikuria, Keraniganj and Mirpur offices respectively.

ACC personnel distributed leaflets and stickers among the people to create
awareness among of the people.
