BAF replaces peacekeeping contingent in Central African Republic

DHAKA, June 2, 2021 (BSS) -The Bangladesh Air Force (BSS) is replacing 125 peacekeepers deployed in the UN peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic.

As part of the replacement program, 125 members of the Air Force left Dhaka for the Central African Republic today on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight chartered by the United Nations, said a press release.

This Armed Military Utility Helicopter Unit of BAF will be led by Group Captain Shah Kawsar Ahmed Chowdhury.

It is to be noted that the BAF have been able to earn the trust of the government and the people of the country by performing their duties with utmost efficiency, professionalism and sincerity in resolving the conflict.

A munajat was organized at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the hope that the peacekeepers would be able to achieve more in the days to come while maintaining the reputation and success they have achieved.

Senior Air Force officials said goodbye to those present at the airport.

Earlier on May 30, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat gave a briefing to the Central African Republic Air Force contingent members at Base Bashar and participated in special prayers for the success of the mission.
