Bangladesh to send medicine worth Tk 20 crore to Bhutan

DHAKA, July 23, 2018 (BSS) – Bangladesh will send medicine for the people
of Bhutan worth Taka 20 crore as per the commitment of Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina.

“Our PM committed to Bhutan to supply medicine for one year free of cost
while visiting the country in 2017 … Following the commitment we will start
supplying the medicine worth Taka 20 crore in September,” said Health and
Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim.

He said this at a programme at his ministry conference room at secretariat
here.

At the programme, Nasim handed over medicine as a token to the Bhutanese
Ambassador to Bangladesh Sonam Tobden Rabgye.

“We will finish supply of the medicine within October,” he added.

The friendship of the two countries would be stronger after supplying of
the medicine, said Nasim.

Secretary (health education and family welfare) GM Saleh Uddin and
Director General of Directorate General of Health Services Dr Abul Kalam Azad
were present at the meeting.
