Met office advises maritime ports to lower signal

DHAKA, July 23, 2018 (BSS) – The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s
Bazar, Mongla and Payra were advised to lower signal as a squally weather is
unlikely over the maritime ports, north Bay and adjoining coastal areas, a
Met bulletin said today.

However, the met office asked all fishing boats and trawlers over North
Bay to proceed with caution till today’s evening.

Meanwhile, a Met office warning message said, rain or thundershowers
accompanied by temporary south or south-Eesterly gusty or squally wind speed
60-80 kph is likely to occur in Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur,
Madaripur, Jashore, Kushtia and Cumilla districts.

Earlier, these maritime ports yesterday were advised to keep hoisting
local cautionary signal number three as the monsoon land depression now lied
over North Odisha and adjoining areas.

River ports are advised to hoist cautionary signal number two.
