Winger Ibrahim is fit to play

DHAKA, June 1, 2021 (BSS)- Winger Mohammad Ibrahim is now mentally and physically fit and ready to play Bangladesh’s remaining three matches of the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers being COVID-19 negative after his second test in Qatar.

“I am mentally and physically fit and will join the team and try to make place in the team by doing hard work in the practice session,” said Ibrahim through a video message today.

Ibrahim, who reached Qatar yesterday (Monday)after being COVID-19 negative, said they have three matches against Afghanistan, India and Oman … and he sought prayer to all for a good result.

The winger also did not forget to thank the Bangladesh Football Federation and his club (Bashundhara Kings) for giving him support during his illness and again sought prayer to all so that the team can return home with a good result.

It can be perceived that the national team must be boosted by the presence of Mohammad Ibrahim ahead of the tough match against Afghanistan.

Team’s physio Fuad Hasan Hawlader said he still does not see any injury symptoms among the twenty four players who are now in Qatar to play the World Cup qualifiers matches. All are fit, having no major injury or sickness.

He said so far the players are giving their best in the training session and performing well and he hoped that the booters would be able to do something good and be able to bring good results for the country.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh national football team, divided into two groups, today completed their stretching and swimming session in the team’s hotel.

The national booters will have their training session at Qatar University ground from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm (Bangladesh time).

According to the fixtures of the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers, Bangladesh will play against Afghanistan, India and Oman on June 3, 7 and 15 respectively.
