Fire breaks out in DB office of CMP
CHATTOGRAM, July 23, 2018 (BSS)- A fire broke out at the Detective Branch
(DB) office of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP)at city’s Laldighi area at
11.30 am today.
Twelve fire service units from Agrabad, Nandankanon and the Chandanpura
Fire Service stations were rushed to the spot and brought the fire under
control within 51 minutes, said Jashim Uddin, Deputy Assistant Director of
Fire Service in Chattogram.
He said the fire was originated from an electric short circuit on the
second floor of the DB office.
The fire damaged some papers and burned some jackets taken inside a room,
said CMP additional commissioner (crime) Amena Begum.
A four-member probe committee, headed by Amena Begum, was formed to
investigate the incident, said CMP additional deputy commissioner (public
relations) Alok Bishwash.
