Blockchain technology ensures transparency, accountability in administrative activities : Palak
DHAKA, May 30, 2021 (BSS) –State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak has said that “blockchain” is a reliable technology to ensure transparency and accountability in financial and administrative activities.
“If we do not adopt “blockchain” technology, we will lag behind. We should use this frontier technology. It is a reliable technology to ensure transparency and accountability in financial and administrative activities,” he said.
The state minister was speaking at the award ceremony of “Blockchain Olympiad Bangladesh-2021” organized by ICT Division and Bangladesh Blockchain Olympiad at Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Auditorium here as the chief guest today.
He mentioned that economic development should be taken forward using frontier technology in every field including agriculture, education and health.
The state minister said the goverment is working towards the target of 5 billion dollar in export revenue from IT or ITS sector by 2025.
There are currently 6.5lakh IT freelancers in the country, he said, adding that they are earning more than 500 million dollars.
He said 1 billion dollar is being earned through skilled manpower (hardware and software related works together).
Noting that there is no end to education in a rapidly changing world, the state minister said 300 schools of the future are being set up in the country to impart practical education on disruptive technology to deal with the Fourth Industrial revolution.
Sheikh Hasina Institute of Frontier Technology will be established in 2041 to create the best technologists in developed Bangladesh, he added.
He said Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centers are being set up in 64 districts to make the youth proficient in Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Robotics, Blockchain, Augmented Reality and Microprocessor Design technology to ensure employment of the youth.
A total of 8,000 Sheikh Russel Digital Labs have been established across the country, he continued.
