Lower courts allow bail to 49,905 accused thru virtual hearing
DHAKA, May 29, 2021 (BSS) – Lower courts and tribunals across the country in the last 30 working days, granted bail to 49,905 accused after hearing their pleas virtually.
Confirming the matter to BSS, Supreme Court spokesperson and High Court Division Special Officer Md Saifur Rahman said the lower courts and tribunals across the country in the last 30 working days from 12 May to 27 April, disposed of 94,840 bail pleas and allowed bail to 49,905 accused.
“Of the total number of accused who were granted bail through virtual hearing, 692 were juvenile,” he added.
The lower courts and tribunals on May 27 disposed of 3,190 criminal bail pleas and allowed bail to 1,407 accused.
