Huge stolen hospital medicine seized in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, July 23, 2018 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested one
person with a huge quantity of medicine and other medical instruments
allegedly stolen from government hospital yesterday evening.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in Kasiadanga area
in the city around 7.30 pm and seized two trucks loaded with medicines and
medical instruments stolen from government hospital, said Major Ashraful
Islam, Company Commander of RAB-5.
The medicines were being trafficked away from store of civil surgeon
office for selling those in black market, he said, adding one person
identifying himself as Saiful Islam, 40, a pharmacist of Godagari upazila
health complex, was arrested from the spot.
He also said another Mokbul Hossain, store officer in Civil Surgeon
Office, who is allegedly involved in the incident, remained absconding. “We
are trying to nab him as early as possible,” he added.
