SYLHET, May 27, 2021 (BSS) – Planning Minister MA Mannan today
said that achieving economic prosperity of Bangladesh is one of the
goals of the present government, for which the government is working
to implement various initiatives.
The minister was speaking as the chief guest while distributing
materials among the fish farmers of Galda, Carp Mixed Cultivation and
D Exhibition at the 2nd phase of Union Level Fisheries Technology
Service Expansion Project in the hall room of South Sunamganj Upazila
Parishad in Sunamganj District today, said a press release.
The minister said, ‘”The government is working to achieve
prosperity in every sector of the country with the aim of economic
development of Bangladesh. Bangladesh today is a role model of
development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. No
other government has been able to develop the country so much like the
Awami League government.”
“Through rice and fish farming, we have the opportunity to become
economically prosperous and create additional employment. For this
reason, the government has continued modern research to increase fish
production in the country,” he said.
“If educated youth become entrepreneurs, there is an opportunity
to achieve huge economic prosperity in fish farming. It will benefit
both the individual and the government,” he added.
Later, the Planning Minister inaugurated Khandaker Alkach & Amina
Private Hospital in Nabi Nagar area of Sunamganj city.
During the inauguration, he told newsmen that the next budget
would focus on vaccinating the public against the virus and ensuring
its prevention.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, Municipal Mayor
Nader Bakht, Civil Surgeon Dr Shams Uddin, Chairman of Khandaker
Alkach & Amina Hospital Alkash Uddin Khandaker, Manjur Khandaker,
Asaduzzaman Sentu,
Latifur Rahman Raju, Sabuj Kanti and Narul Islam were present on
the occasion.
Earlier in the morning, the planning minister visited the
temporary campus of the newly established Sunamganj Bangabandhu
Medical College in South Sunamganj.
During his visit, he was accompanied by Assistant Superintendent
of Police Hayatun Nabi, Upazila Chairman Faruk Ahmed, Upazila Nirbahi
Officer Anwar Uz Zaman, Upazila Fisheries Officer Zahid Hasan, Private
Political Secretary to the Planning Minister Hasnat Hossain, District
Council Member Zahirul Islam, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Lecturer
Nur Hossain, Women Vice Chairman Dulan Rani Talukder and Upazila Awami
League General Secretary Ataur Rahman.
