Booters leave for Qatar Friday

DHAKA, May 26, 2021 (BSS)- A 35-memebr of Bangladesh national football team will fly for Qatar on Friday (May 28) to take part in their remaining three matches of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers and AFC Asian Cup 2023 (preliminary joint qualifiers round-2), two day before their scheduled departure.

The 35-member national football team included twenty five players and ten officials.

Bangladesh Football Federation vice president and national teams committee’s chairman Kazi Nabil Ahmed, MP today said after reaching in Qatar airport the booters would further go through a COVID-19 test and if the test result come with negative, then they would be able to start training in Qatar.

Nabil hoped that through the practice match the national team will complete their preparation for the World Cup qualifiers and after reaching in Qatar they would be able to start their training in Qatar.
According to the fixtures of the World Cup 2022 qualifiers, Bangladesh will play against Afghanistan, India and Oman on June 3, 7 and 15 respectively.

Meanwhile, the national booters will play a practice match against Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club scheduled to be held tomorrow at Bangabandhu National Stadium at 4 pm.
