Clothes distributed among destitute in Rangpur

RANGPUR, July 23, 2018 (BSS) – Parliament member (MP) from reserved
constituency Advocate Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia urged people to vote for boat
again to continue the country’s development as she distributed clothes
allocated by the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund among distressed women and
children.

“Sheikh Hasina believes in works, but not in words and has dedicated
herself to welfare and progress of the poor and distressed people,” Dalia
said in a function arranged at her Guptapara residence here on Sunday night
as the chief guest.

She distributed sarees and dresses allocated from the Prime Minister’s
Relief Fund to over 100 poor and distressed women and children on the
occasion as saying Prime Minsiter (PM) Sheikh Hasina always does works for
overall welfare of the country.

The lawmaker said the greater Rangpur region was a ‘monga’-stricken area
once where the poor suffered a lot due to abject poverty for lack of jobs and
livelihoods during the lean period of ‘Aswin’ and Kartik’ months every year
even a decade ago.

“But, the present government has factually turned the region into a fast-
developing area through conducting massive uplift activities with social
safety net programmes for the poor,” she said.

Dalia said the present government is providing houses to homeless people
along with necessary training and assistance to make them self-reliant for
building a Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman.

She called upon the common people, including women, to bring Awami League
(AL) to power again for continuation of the massive development activities to
build a developed Bangladesh by 2041.

With Convener of Rangpur district unit of Bangabandhu Foundation freedom
fighter Azibur Rahman Laizu in the chair, Zila Parishad Member Parvin Aktar,
Member of city AL Sadakat Hossain Shaon, Mohila AL leaders Jharna Begum,
Irene Alam and Naznin Begum attended the function.
