DHAKA, May 25, 2021 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Bangla Academy Director General (DG) Habibullah Sirajee.
In a condolence message, the head of the state prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
A poet and writer, Habibullah Sirajee died of cancer at a private hospital here last night.
Graduated from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), he was the recipient of various local and foreign awards, including Ekushey Padak in 2016 and Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1991.
