RAB fines two pharmaceuticals Tk 11 lakh
DHAKA, May 24, 2021 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) fined Tk 11 lakh in a raid conducted in two fake pharmaceutical factories in the capital’s Jatrabari on charges of making counterfeit medicines of different brands on Monday.
During this time, the mobile court seized 70 dices for making fake packaging and packets.
RAPID Action Battalion (RAB-10) ASP (Media) Enayet Kabir Soeb told BSS that a team led by RAB Executive Magistrate Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman and RAB-10 realized the fine.
He further said that at this time, for making fake wrappers and packets of important medicines of various reputable brands, ‘Kawan Enterprise Company’ was fined Tk 10 lakh and ‘Desh Laboratories Company’ was fined Tk 1 lakh.
Preliminary investigation revealed that for some time now, these fraudulent traders have been making fake packages of important medicines including medicines used to cure Covid-19 in Jatrabari area of the capital and supplying them to different parts of the country.
