Niaz, Enamul share 3rd position in Asian continental chess
DHAKA, May 24, 2021 (BSS)- GM Niaz Murshed and GM Enamul Hossain is sharing the third position with 2.5 points along with 14 other players after 4th round games of the Asian Continental Individual Chess Championship today.
IM Abu Sufian Shakil and IM Mohammad Farhad Rahman both secured two points while FM Subrota Biswas earned 1.5 points after the fourth round matches.
The fourth round match was held today with GM Niaz Murshed splitting points with CM Aidtya Bagus Arfan of Indonesia. GM Niaz played with white pieces in Queen’s Gambit accepted game and drew with CM Arfan at 60th moves.
GM Razib beat WIM Nazerke Nurgali of Kazakistan. GM Razib played with white pieces with the Symmetrical English method and won 29th moves. FM Subrota lost to GM Susanto Megaranto of Indonesia.
FM Subrota played black pieces with Caro-Kann defense and lost to GM Susanto 24 moves. IM Shakil beat Gladmir Chester Romero of Philippines. IM Shakil played white pieces against Caro-Kann defense and against Panov-Botvinnik Attack and won at 45th moves. IM Fahad beat Jimmy Dano of the Philippines. IM Fahad played with black pieces in slave-defense and won after 71th moves.
The fifth round games start tomorrow at 12 pm (BST).
