Rezaul for harsher action against negligence in duty.

DHAKA, 23 May, 2021 (BSS)- Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim today said that there is no scope to show leniency or negligence in the implementation of project work in the pretext of COVID-19 and if anyone is found guilty must be brought to book.

The minister sounded the warning while addressing a meeting to review the April 2021 progress of the projects of the Department of Livestock, Bangladesh Veterinary Council and Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute under the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock which included in the revised annual development program for the fiscal year 2020-21, said a press release.

Addressing the project directors , the minister said sincerity, honesty and self-determination as well as patriotism are indispensable in the implementation of the project.

“With her untiring efforts, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken Bangladesh to a new height than many other countries. You have to keep the continuation and I want to remember you how much you are serving the people of the state,” he added.

Rezaul said the ministry will not be held responsible for any negative activities of those involved in the project. All the rules and regulations relating to the projects have to be followed properly.”

“In the livestock sector we have to conduct activities with new spirits and zeal therefore, slow pace and lack of monitoring in the project work is not desirable at all.” Rezaul said,

Secretary of the Ministry Raunak Mahmud, Additional Secretary Md Taufiqul Arif, Director General of the Department of Livestock Dr Sheikh Azizur Rahman, Director General of the Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute, Dr Md Abdul Jalil, Director of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock , Representatives of the Commission and IMED also attended the meeting.
