Booters leave for KSA tomorrow

DHAKA, May 23, 2021 (BSS) – The Bangladesh national football team will leave here for Dammam, city of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), tomorrow (Monday) morning by a Qatar Airlines to play practice match ahead of their FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 (preliminary joint round) matches in Qatar.

The Bangladesh Football Federation vice president and national team’s committee’s chairman Kazi Nabil Ahmed,MP, today informed that during the week-long stay in Dammam city, the booters would continue their training camp there and they would also play one or two practice matches against the local clubs on May 26,27 and 29 to make them prepare for the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers matches.

After the practice matches, the team would leave there for Qatar on May 30.

He said the names of the clubs will be informed later in a day or two.

The booters will stay in the Novotel Dammam Business Park and have their training at Prince Nayef Sports City, he added.

Nabil hoped that this camp will be fruitful for the team ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers matches in Qatar.

Bangladesh team: Sahidul Alam, Rasel Mahmud, Anisur Rahman, Rahmat Mia, Topu Barman, Riyadul Hasan, Yeasin Arafat, Rimon Hossain, Mehedi Hasan, Habibur Rahman Sohag, Tariq Raihan Kazi, Mohammad Emon, Jamal Bhuyan, Mohammad Abdullah, Masuk Miah Zoni, Sohel Rana, Biplo Ahamed, Matin Miah, Rakib Hossain, Manik Hossain Molla, Mehadi Hasan, Mahbubur Rahman, Suman Reza, Mohammad Jewel And Mohammad Ibrahim (will join squad if COVID-19 negative before May 28).
