DHAKA, May 23, 2021, (BSS) – Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan today inaugurated three isolation centres at three jails in the country.
Of the isolation centres, 70-bed centre in central jail of Keraniganj, 41-bed in Feni District Jail-2, and 28-bed in Kishoreganj District Jail-2, said a press release.
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) continues to support the Prisons Directorate in Bangladesh amid COVID-19 to help mitigate the riskof coronavirus infection among prisoners and prison staff.
Secretary of the Security Services Division Md Mokabbir Hossain, Inspector General (IG) of Prisons General Md Mominur Rahman Mamun, Additional IG Prisons Colonel Md Abrar Hossain and ICRC Protection Coordinator in Bangladesh Henning Krause attended the inauguration event held on the premises of Keraniganj Central Jail.
